Summary
This release contains minor backend changes and updates, and preparatory work for the major change detailed below.
Data Access Request Workflows
In September there will be a major change to FAIR data access requests (DAR), we are changing the software used to manage DAR approval workflows.
The primary benefit of this change is that it will bring the DAR review and approval process inside the FAIR UI, data owners will no longer have to navigate to a third-party system to manage their data access requests.
This change will have no impact on standard users requesting access to data, they will still submit DARs via FAIR and transfer data to a workspace upon approval.
At present the Aridhia team is converting all existing approval workflows to make them compatible with the new software.
No action is required from data owners at this time, though they will need to tranistion to their new approval workflow before the end of September.
In August we will be making training material available that will cover:
- The new UI for data owners
- The steps data owners will have to take to transition to their new workflows
