Managing containerised apps

It is possible to add containerised apps to a registry so that they can be distributed to the workspaces in your hub.

Creating an app

Containerised applications can be added to the hub's container registry. There is no hard and fast rule for creating these containers and help for your containerising your specific app is available by contacting your Aridhia Customer Manager or via Service Desk.

When submitting an app for distribution, you should know the answer to the following questions:

  • What should be the display name of the app?
  • Do you have an app logo? Can you provide a logo image? (optional)
  • On what port number will the container serve HTTP traffic?
  • Does the app need access to the workspace’s database?
  • Does the app need access to the workspace’s file volume? This is used for persisting files.
  • If yes, does the app need read-write or read-only access?
  • If yes, on what path should the volume be mounted? (optional)
  • Which hub should the app be installed on?
  • Which workspaces should have access to the app?
  • Can you provide an IP address that is going to be whitelisted on the registry? Pushes will only be allowed from this IP.

Uploading your app

Aridhia's Service Desk will be happy to guide you through the process of adding your app to the Container Registry (ACR) . The process of uploading your app is constantly evolving so our Service Desk will be able to provide you with the latest experience.

The same goes for updating an app already on the registry; please contact the Service Desk.

Running apps

Once an app is uploaded and distributed to the requisite workspaces, users of those workspaces will be able to launch the app as they would do any of the built-in containersied apps; see this article for more information.
